shower curtainA shower curtain is the most common form of barrier used when you have an overbath shower fitted in your bathroom. They are a cheap and cheerful way of utilising a shower over a bath but they do have some drawbacks - the main drawback being that they are always visible, even when not in use and as such can be a bit obtrusive. The above diagram shows the difference between a normal shower curtain and the Outasight concealed shower curtain system. As can be seen, the Outasight folds away into an extremely neat box when it is not in use - and it can even be stowed while it is still wet. Shower curtains are one of the only forms of overbath barrier that protect along the whole length of the bath and in this respect are more practical than some shower screens (the Outasight does however cover over 80% of a standard length bath). A shower curtain will need occasional washing and most polyester curtains are machine washable (check the label to make sure). The Straight shower curtain is designed to remain in place for all of its operational life - all that is needed is a quick spray with the recommended cleaner once a month. Each shower curtain manufacturer usually provides a whole host of different designs to compensate for the fact that the curtain will always be visible (even the clear ones can be seen!)
