ceiling claddingPainting a ceiling in not much fun - especially if it has a textured finish. Bathrooms are a particular problem as they can need constant attention brought on by the high humidity levels and condensation. A simple solution to this problem is to install a product that requires no maintenance and will look good for years - ceiling cladding.
This product is quick and easy to install and can be fitted over existing ceiling coverings such as Artex, plaster or lath and plaster. It is best to remove fragile coverings, such as polystyrene tiles, before fitting the cladding, although it is possible to fix through this type of surface using a mechanical fixing (nails, screws or long staples) if removal is a problem. In new builds, renovations or extensions it is ideal as it can be fitted directly to bare plasterboard, with no need for plastering - saving time, effort, mess and money. Ceiling cladding can be fitted on battens if the ceiling is uneven or installed directly on the existing ceiling surface. The easiest method is to use a combination of adhesive and staples - the staples help hold the cladding in place while the adhesive sets. When measuring for ceiling cladding it should be noted that you sometimes require a different number of panels depending on the direction you run them - see our measuring guide for more details. Cladding that we would recommend for use on the ceiling include:
but as we stated previously, any of our cladding products can be used - it's down to personal taste at the end of the day.
