Bathroom ceilings can be a problem. The high levels of humidity, condensation and even deflected spray from showers can really cause havoc with traditional ceiling coverings.
We have a range of UPVC panels that will transform your ceiling and eliminate all of the problems associated with traditional covering methods. Examples of some of our most popular panels are shown above or click here to see our full range. The standard finishes, such as plaster, texturing compound, wallpaper or timber tongue and groove panels are all usually overcoated with paint (or sometimes varnish in the case of tongue and groove). The two main problems that can affect these finishes are: mould growth - caused by the constant presence of moisture; and peeling - caused by moisture getting underneath the paint surface and reducing the bond between the paint and the substrate. There are several specialist bathroom paints on the market that help prevent mould growth but even these can suffer from peeling if the underlying substrate is not dry. The following image of a timber tongue and groove ceiling shows what can happen when moisture starts to penetrate behind the paint: the timber starts to swell, the paint peels off and eventually the timber will start to rot.....
The Bathroom Marquee has a large range of waterproof ceiling panels that can be used to replace the traditional bathroom ceilings - including some wood-effect panels that can be used as direct replacements for tongue and groove ceilings - such as Ligno 10 tongue and groove panels The panels are totally waterproof, warm to the touch (making it difficult for condensation to form and mould to grow), there is nothing to paint and they require no maintenance so your bathroom ceiling will look good from the day it's installed and will continue to do so for years afterwards. more information on
