Bath PanelA bath panel is usually supplied with your bathroom suite when it is purchased. Typically these are either made from a very thin moulded acrylic sheet or mdf with a vinyl foil wrapped around to give a woodgrain effect. Acrylic panels are very flimsy and can crack quite easily if leant against. The MDF bath panels are much more solid but can get damaged if water gets into the core. The waterproof wall panels sold by The Bathroom Marquee are also suitable for use as a bath panel. A batten attached to the floor is usually all that is needed for acrylic baths, while a simple framework is used when you need to fit a bath panel to a steel or cast iron bath.
The resulting panel is much more robust than a standard acrylic bath panel and completely impervious to water (unlike MDF panels). If used in conjunction with wall cladding then the bath is given a "built-in" look as can be seen in the above image. The versatility of our wall panelling system can be seen in the above photo which shows the panel being used on the walls, bath and ceiling of this bathroom. |
